Featured Project: Rizal Technological University: UPS & Precision Cooling for Multi-Campus Data Centers
Rizal Technological University depends on its data centers to power critical academic and administrative services — from online enrollment to digital learning platforms. With operations running around the clock, RTU needed to protect these systems from power interruptions and environmental risks.
AVLS was awarded the project through public bidding to upgrade the UPS and precision cooling system infrastructure of four data centers across its Boni and Pasig campuses.
The Challenge
Any downtime can affect thousands of students and staff. RTU required:
- Uninterrupted power for essential ICT services
- Stable temperature and airflow for server performance
- Multi-campus protection for decentralized server rooms
- Reduced human access inside sensitive environments
- Efficient remote monitoring for faster incident response
The AVLS Solution
AVLS delivered a fully integrated power and cooling system featuring:
- Redundant UPS systems to ensure continuous operations during outages and voltage fluctuations
- Precision cooling units engineered for data center thermal management — not just comfort cooling
- Battery backup infrastructure sized for critical loads
- Remote monitoring technology to track performance, alarms, and environmental conditions
- Optimized room access to limit unnecessary ingress and wear on equipment
AVLS handled end-to-end engineering, cabling, installation, testing, commissioning, and facility handover — ensuring each data center was prepared for mission-critical uptime.
The Outcome
RTU now benefits from:
- Strong uptime protection for digital systems and student services
- Better energy efficiency and controlled thermal performance
- Real-time management with remote monitoring
- Less risk of failures and costly interruptions
- A resilient ICT backbone ready for future digital expansion
